The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Idette Brown-Vaughan can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

My Dear Friend

I've known Idette for 40 years.  Our friendship began when we were working together back in the late 70's, and we've been friends ever since.  The last time I saw Idette was about a month ago when her and Neil came to our house.  She noticed I was having trouble walking and asked what was wrong.  Idette immediately gave me the name and number of her doctor and some home remedies to try -- before they even sat down!  Well, that's not all.  The very next day, I received emails with a link to the doctor and other useful links.  I was truly touched that she took the time out of her day to search and send information to me.  This was not surprising, however, because this was Idette -- always showing her care and concern for others and going out of her way for them.  This is only one example of her many kind gestures to me over the years -- things I'll never forget.  I'm very sad to have lost such a dear friend, and I'll miss our times together.

Neil, Brandi, Spencer and Amina, you have our deepest sympathy.

Idette, may you rest in peace in God's loving embrace.
