Cremation Options

Brooklyn Cremation Options

Over the last decade, cremation has grown in popularity. Therefore, to better satisfy consumer demand, we have mastered our cremation process and established cremation as a staple part of our funeral home. We offer different Brooklyn cremation options based on the type of ceremony you and your family would like to have, along with the actual cremation.

Direct Cremation

This involves completion of all required paperwork and the transportation of the deceased from the place of the death to the crematory. Direct cremation does not include any type of ceremony.

A Memorial Service or Celebration of Life After Cremation

This cremation packages includes all the aspects of a direct cremation plus the choice of a memorial service or a celebration of life. Usually, the memorial service or celebration of life takes place weeks or even months after the death which allows families much more time to think about how they want the ceremony formatted. Many families choose to have the urn on display at the ceremony.

Cremation with a Traditional Funeral Service

This package is very similar to the traditional funeral service we offer with burial. It consists of a wake/visitation where the casket can be opened or closed, followed by a traditional funeral that often takes place at a church. A specially-selected cremation casket is used during the wake. Once the funeral service has concluded, the deceased is transported to a crematory as opposed to a gravesite. After the cremation, the remains are then returned to the family.

Ash Scattering Service

You have many options once you receive your loved one’s ashes. A popular choice is to have an ash scattering service. We can help you organize this ceremony. Location is one of the most important factors. We will work with you to find a location that was special to your loved one and that also legally allows for ash scattering.
We consider ourselves to be Brooklyn cremation experts, and therefore with any type of cremation option you choose you can expect:
  • Courteous, Professional Service.
Our dedicated staff will take care of all details, including prompt filing of required permits and notifications. Accurate completion of these essential documents not only ensures their acceptance by local or state agencies; it guarantees your loved one's cremation will not be delayed.
  • Respectful Care of the Deceased and Timely Completion of the Cremation Process
Your loved one will be attended to by certified crematory operators; each of whom has been trained to provide both compassionate care for the deceased, and conscientious attention to detail throughout the cremation process.

  • Safekeeping and Prompt Return of Cremated Remains
We know it's important for the families we serve to know their loved one will be coming home as soon as possible. That's why we promise to notify you as soon as their ashes become available and safeguard their urn until the time you are ready to receive them.

The Cremation Decision

What are some factors that you will have to consider when deciding on cremation? All of them are deeply personal and significant: there are your spiritual/religious beliefs, your level of environmental consciousness, financial considerations, and the expectations of your immediate family and your wider social group.

As you dive into the pages below, have these questions in mind:
  1. How do you feel about the idea of cremation? What about burial? Purely based on emotions, which one makes you feel better?
  2. Is cost a big concern for you? When it comes to end-of-life planning, are you most interested in saving you and your family money?
  3. What does your religion say about cremation? Will your religious or spiritual beliefs have a great impact on the decision to cremate?
  4. Do you have concerns about reducing pollution and being as environmentally friendly as possible?
  5. How do you think your family and friends will react to your decision? What are their end-of-life plans?
