Obituary for Margaret Patti

Margaret Patti ,92 of Marine Park Brooklyn, New York, passed away peacefully at home in bed on October 17, 2017 with her family close by. Born September 7, 1925, she was the daughter Pasquale and Virginia Vascimini. Margaret was one of five children and grew up in a close knit Italian family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Gerald Philip Patti, her sister Elizabeth Vascimini and her brothers Annibale and Francis Vascimini. She is survived by her three sons, Richard Patti of Tannersville Pa, Dennis Patti and his wife Kathleen of Brooklyn, NY and Mitchell Patti and his wife Christine of Oakmont Pa, seven grandchildren, Tara Gohn, Marissa Patti, Michael Patti, Christopher Patti, Stephen Patti, Marc Patti and Richard Patti and her beloved great Grandchild, Olivia.

Margaret grew up in Cobble Hill and graduated from Fashion Institute of Technology. She subsequently worked as a dress maker and designer in the fashion industry. Margaret married her husband Gerald and moved to Marine Park where together with her husband raised her three children. Margaret will be fondly remembered for her unending love of her family as well as her unsurpassed hospitality and her legendary holiday dinners. Anyone who attended her Christmas dinners will forever long for her manicotti and crabmeat pie.

Margaret loved animals (even Mudge the cat). Throughout her life she showered the family dogs with her affection and a healthy serving of Milkbone biscuits.

Margaret lived happily married for many years and enjoyed watching her family grow up. She memorably touched everyone she met from family to friends to strangers. She will be missed however fond memories of her will live on.
