Obituary for Nancy Rizzi

Nancy Rizzi “Gma” (nee Ricciardi) peacefully passed away on Saturday December 9th, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She lived to celebrate her 92nd birthday last Friday with her loved ones. Nancy was a parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe. She was the devoted and loving wife for 66 years of Sallustio and beloved mother of Vito and fiancée Phyllis, Antoinette and husband Philip, and Susan and husband John. She was adored by her grandchildren (aka “zookies”) Mary and husband Robin, Nancy Sue, Jonathan, Christopher, John, and Julia. Nancy is survived by her sister Laura and husband Nick, sister-in-law Phyllis, and brother-in-law Joe. She was also sister to the late Vince and Madeline. A mother to all she met, she always welcomed everyone and made them feel at home. As the binding glue and nucleus of her family, she will be sorely missed. The viewing will be held at Torregrossa, 1305 79th St. on Wednesday, December 13th from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and the funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30 AM on Thursday, December 14th, at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 7201 15th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11228. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Brooklyn. Nancy’s wishes are that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
