John was the first person that I met when I began my career at Apple Bank almost 29 years ago. Over that time I gained a friend who I admired greatly for his integrity, intelligence and steady demeanor. Aside from his professional qualities, I admired more than anything else John's unwavering dedication and love for his family.This is what really defined him as man and this will be his greatest legacy in my eyes. I will miss him more than these words can express. My family and I extend our heartfelt sympathy to all of the Alfke family on their loss and on their sorrow.
