Obituary for Judith Amanda Hansen

Our beloved mother Judith Amanda Hansen, age 79, passed away peacefully on the dawn of July 18, 2022. She was a lifelong resident of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Born the daughter of Leona and John Imbriale, who preceded her in death, as did her beloved sister Barbara Finnerty.
She is survived by her brother John Imbriale and his wife Leticia, her Aunt Dorothy Buscemi, her daughter Judy Lee Hansen, her son William Hansen, his wife Genevieve, and her two grandchildren Raz Hansen and Lena Hansen. She is also survived by her nephews Richard Finnerty and his wife Ann, Kevin Finnerty and his wife Denise, as well her cousins, many beloved great–nieces, other extended family members, and many dear friends.

Judith completed her high school education at Lincoln High School. She married in 1964 to William Peter Hansen also of Bay Ridge. She gave birth to her two children in her early 20s. Worked several jobs and raised her children. During her 40s, she discovered a great love for travel and explored the world and its cultures. She was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Bay Ridge. She had a never-ending passion for all that is NYC, especially the World Trade Center, Verrazanno, and Brooklyn Bridges.

In some of the last moments of her life, she sang that she did it "My Way" a song she fondly loved.

Although she enjoyed flowers, she felt their beauty was short-lived. In lieu of flowers please make any donations to Visions Services for the Blind of New York
