Joseph P. Lombardo Sr., 91, of Brooklyn, New York passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021
Beloved husband of 49 years to the late Marie (Lomangino) Lombardo. Loving father of Rose & her husband James Orlando, Angelica & her husband Frank D'Arrigo, John & his wife Susan, Michelle & her husband Dante Landi Jr., Leonard & his wife Tina, Joseph Jr. & his wife Debbie.
Cherished grandfather of 19 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Adored brother of the late John, Anthony, Antonio, & Rick. Also survived by many nieces & nephews.
Mr. Lombardo was a U.S. Army veteran serving as an Honor Guard during the Korean War Era from 1951 to 1953. He was the owner and operator of Zsa Zsa hair salon in Brooklyn, NY for the first half of his working carrier as a beautician. After successfully selling the business, he spent the rest of his career as a member of the International Longshoremen's Association in Brooklyn, NY.
In addition to spending time with his family, he loved sports, was an avid golfer, gifted woodworker, and enjoyed cooking and wine making.
Funeral is Saturday 4/17 at 8am from Andrew Torregrossa & Sons Funeral Home, 1305-79th Street Brooklyn, NY. Funeral Mass 9:30am at St. Athanasius. Entombment at Moravian Cemetery 2205 Richmond Road Staten Island, NY. Friends will be received Thursday 6-9pm and Friday 4-8pm.
