Obituary for John Amato
Giovanni (John) Amato, 89, of Brooklyn, New York went home to be with our Lord on June 16th, 2022. He passed away at home, surrounded by his loved ones.
John was born on September 23rd, 1932 in Carini, Palermo, Sicily, Italy to Guiseppe and Marianna Amato. From a young child, he worked hard to help support his family. He arrived in the USA in 1958 and met and married his “baby”, Frances Amato (née Sauro) that same year.
Beloved father of Mary Ann Amato, who greeted him at the gates of Heaven, Margaret Fox, Francine Gallo, Joseph Amato, and Michele Amato, Beloved Father in law of Anthony, Michael and Claudia. Beloved Poppi to John, Anthony, Giovanni, David, Faith, and Grant. Beloved brother of the late Frank Amato, and survived by his beloved youngest brother Peter Amato, beloved uncle, cousin, and friend to so many.
