After living a very special life, Frank Giglidoro passed away on November 13, 2022 at the age of 58. Frank was born April 28, 1964 to the late Frank and Nicolina Giglidoro; some may have considered Frank special because he had Down’s Syndrome, but what made him special was the way he touched everyone’s’ lives he encountered. Frank “loved” many things - going out to eat, getting dressed up, having company over, his favorite movies and TV shows, music and dancing, and the beach, but Frank’s true love was his family and many friends.
He is predeceased by brother Enrico Giglidoro, survived by siblings Alfred Giglidoro, Maria and Michael Zappa, Valerie Budroni, and many loving nephews and nieces.
Although a native and lifelong resident of Brooklyn, Frankie embraced the opportunity of being a snow bird, spending half the year in Florida where he was able to have a second childhood with his niece Francesca Harnum, and nephews Michael Zappa and Nicholas Zappa – enjoying the sun, water, and plenty of mischief.
Family and friends are invited to gather Friday, 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at Andrew Torregrossa and Sons Funeral Home, 1305 79th St.Brooklyn, NY.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday 10AM at Our Lady of Grace RC Church, Brooklyn, NY. Interment to follow at St John Cemetery, Middle Village, NY.
Donations may be sent in his honor to the National Down Syndrome Society (ndss.org).
