Obituary for Eugene L. Ferro

Eugene Ferro, 91, passed away on Monday March 15, 2021.
Born on Wednesday, January 22, 1930, Eugene was the son of the late Giovanni and Maria
Ferro. He was the middle child of 7 kids. His father came to America first then his mother
travelled here with 3 small children while pregnant with him to make a new life in America for
the family.
Eugene was born and raised in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. After graduating from New Utrecht High
School, he enlisted and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force as a Staff
Sergeant where he was part of the Berlin Airlift. After the Service, he met and married MaryAnn
Pagliaro on November 8, 1953. They recently celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary.
Eugene and MaryAnn stayed in Bensonhurst and raised their family there.
He worked as an Aeronautical Engineer at Lockheed and then Grumman. He was so proud that
he was part of the team that built the wings for the first Space Shuttle.
After retirement, the couple spent all their time together, enjoying shopping, card games with
friends, trips to Atlantic City, and vacations on Cape Cod and Plymouth, MA with family. He was
a devout Catholic and loved being an usher at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Eugene’s favorite thing
to do was spend time with family and he especially loved big family gatherings.
Eugene was a loving husband, survived by his beloved wife MaryAnn.
Eugene was a devoted father, survived by his 3 loving children Linda, John and Christopher, and
their spouses Robert, Janet and Georgine.
Eugene was a proud grandfather, survived by his 6 grandchildren, Michael and his wife Lauren,
Julianne and her husband Bryan, Johnny, Kristen, Tyler and Hannah.
Eugene was a loving great-grandfather, survived by his 4 great-grandchildren, Gianna,
Christopher, Jayden and Ryder.
He was a brother, cousin and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Eugene was also a loyal and trusted friend to many.
Eugene was a caring, loving man with a huge heart who will be dearly missed by all those who
loved him.
We were blessed to have had him with us for 91 years.
