Obituary for Connie Mongelluzzo

Connie Mongelluzzo
November 26, 1926 - March 7, 2021

Born in Chicago to Giuseppina and Angelo Mongelluzzo, Connie was the eldest of three siblings. After the death of their father, the family moved to Brooklyn, NY where their mother remarried Ermano Sessa. A member of the first full graduating class of 1945 at Fort Hamilton High School. Connie was a natural beauty, had a short modeling career and was awarded the title of Miss Bay Ridge. She went on to work in administrative positions with Western Electric and American Express. Connie loved to travel, cook and her generous, gentle spirit was a blessing to all who knew her. She retired at the age of 40 to devotedly care for her mother until her death in 1994. Over her final years Connie enjoyed the close companionship of family and dedicated caregivers. Her love of music remained a great source of joy throughout her life. Heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff, facilities and programs at The Paramount at Somers Nursing and Rehabilitation, where Connie was blessed with excellent care and activities over the past five years. Predeceased by her younger brother Michael Mongelluzzo, Connie is survived by her beloved sister Julia Sayegh, twelve loving nieces and nephews, and twenty-four grand-nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all.
