Angelina Cona Sepe was born on July 14, 1927 in St. Angelo di Lombardi, Italy the daughter of Vincent and Anna Rose Cona. She was the youngest of five siblings: Charles Cona, Josie Squarciafico, Michael Cona and Mary Smeraldi. As a child, she worked her father’s land and sold the vegetables in the town market. She survived the Great Depression and World War II passing through her hometown in the hills of Avellino. She immigrated to the United States in 1947 aboard the Marine Falcon with her mother. There, she worked in her brother Charlie’s restaurant, where she learned the art of cooking. In 1953, she took the 24-hour flight to Argentina to marry her childhood friend, Michael Sepe. She returned to the United States and worked as a mother, waitress and full-time Union Seamstress for 37 years. She had homes in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn; Deer Park, Long Island; Bay Ridge, Brooklyn; and finally, Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. She was the beloved mother of three children: Nina Sepe, Michael Sepe (Denise Sepe) and Roseann Sepe Topnick (Michael Topnick); grandmother of five: Dominique Sepe Hawn (Matthew Hawn), Ashley Topnick, Dayna Sepe Rivera (Michael Rivera), Sean Topnick and Dean Sepe; and great grandmother of two: Kayden Rivera and Ellie Hawn. She was the wise elder to many nieces and nephews. On August 19th 2022, Jesus let us know that He was preparing to take her home to a place that He prepared for her. On Tuesday August 23, 2022, surrounded by family, she left her earthly body to be united with Christ.
