Obituary for Angelina Fedele

Angelina Luppino Fedele died peacefully on July 16, 2019 in Brooklyn, New York at the age of 97.
Angelina was born on April 16, 1922 in Sant'Eufemia d'Aspromonte, Italy to her parents, Stefano and Mariangela Luppino. Angelina was the youngest of nine children and a twin to her late sister, Pasqualina. The Luppinos settled in Brooklyn, New York when Angelina was seven years old. She graduated from Brooklyn College, summa cum laude, and received a Master’s in Social Work from Smith College.
Angelina became very involved with her community and worked for the New York City Board of Education. She became the Director of Child Guidance in Brooklyn and retired after 40 years of service.
During a visit to her hometown in Italy, Angelina married her late husband, Antonino Fedele in 1951. They returned to Brooklyn, New York and welcomed their son, Frank Fedele. She was a remarkable woman, an avid reader, world traveler, and opera aficionado.
Angelina is survived by her son, Dr. Frank Fedele of North Hampton, NH and her three grandchildren: Alexandra, Michael and Juliana. She will also be greatly missed by her nephews and nieces.
