Tribute to Phyllis

When I think of Phyllis, I'm reminded of the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, "if I can help somebody as I pass along the way, then my living shall not be in vain."

I met Phyllis in March of 1992 and had the pleasue of working with her during my tenure as a Community School Board Member in School District 17.  When my term was over, we remained the best of friends and later, we became neighbors.

How do I describe such a wonderful person?  How do I explain the multitude of ways she helped to make things better for others?  How do I count the live's she's touched and inspired?  How do I begin to recount the dozens of organizations and people that she found time to lend a helping hand?

Phyllis was a woman of intergity and action.  If I could give her a motto it would be "there are no big "I's"  or little "U's"; everybody is somebody to me!"  She loved people and readily offered her time, talent and resources to help them.  If she could hire you, she did; or she recommended you to a colleague to be hired; or she wrote a winning recommendation that just about guaranteed you would be hired!

She was a wonderful mother, sister, mentor and great friend!  She never missed an opporunity to inspire, encourage or support in good times or bad!  She always had a way of making things work and she was always there to see you through to the end!

Se will be truly missed!  Rest on my friend!  Take your Rest!  We love you but God loves you Best!

With Sympathy & Love
