Condolence: Genieve was a poet friend of mine at Binghamton University and beyond. She was more talent and light wrapped up into a single soul that only radiated light. She was the most alive person I have ever known, and she never took a moment for granted. Especially striking is Genevieve’s empathy. I also have never known anyone with more empathy than herself, and it translated into all she did, continues to do. I do not consider passing a final end by any stretch of the imagination. Her beauty, selflessness, talent, and brilliant insight should resonate in every breath we take. I believe she is listening. Genevieve, I didn’t know. I wish we could write another poem together. Send Christie my love and I will write an addendum to our poem and it will echo. It will infinitely last. I will reach the two of you and please know how much I loved Christie, how much I loved you, and we will see each other again and write a poem for the Gods. My heart, Genevieve, my heart. All is full of love.

Condolence: I am still thinking each day of Genevieve. What a great smile, a full heart, and a grand person. She is one who influences many without even knowing it. I hope, through people's words and the many pictures, that the Colluras can see who she was when she was away from them: One in a million.

Condolence: Some of my most cherished memories are of Genevieve and I as kids playing on the Schroon River Road in Warrensburg. I always looked forward to her visiting each summer. She was such a fun loving person. Although we've lost touch over the years, I still think of her often. I'm so very sorry to hear of her passing. My condolences to the whole family. Her kind spirit will will surely be missed but I know she will be watching over us all ❤

Condolence: The greatest compliment I ever received was when Genevieve said I was a lot like her. I only wish it was more true. Whether when visiting her classroom or planning for our presentation at NCTM or conspiring to write more math books or sharing poetry and art, I always was stunned by her enthusiasm, her wisdom, her delight, her caring, her laughter and her belief that anything was possible. My heart goes out to Linda, Tino, John and the rest of her family. “When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.” Kahlil Gibran

Condolence: Full of light-- those are the words that come to mind immediately when I think of you. Your smile, your energy, your heart, your everything is incomparable and a testament to the beautiful friends and family that taught you to shine. In turn, You taught me so much and we created memories. From our group project on Texas in Ms. D's 7th grade class, to writing campaign speeches in Midwood, to silly nights in Bay Ridge, and Teacher Certification Exams at Bishop Kearney...you stood by me through it all, with ease and confidence. ' From the time we were eleven, I always admired your resilience and magnetism. Thank you for always being an example of how to live. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers always. May God bless you and keep you, White Wave.

Condolence: Your spirit still lives on in my heart, Gen. You were a great classmate and truly a positive soul. I remember studying SAT's at your house - and you know my grades were no where near your scholastic talent! You and your parents were always so gracious to me. My mom remembers you very clearly. Here are her words: "I so vividly recall what she looked like, her height and how she stood in Midwood’s auditorium, a row near mine, loudly cheering and applauding your superb performance of “Luck Be A Lady” in Guys & Dolls. She grew into quite a woman from what I’ve found about her as a teacher and fighter of the cancer that claimed her body, but never the love and admiration so many have for her as a daughter, friend, teacher, author and fighter." My heart aches, but I look forward to one day seeing you on the other side, Gen.

Condolence: Dear family of Genevieve. With great sadness I have learned of Genevieve passing. She was the 1st grade teacher of my son 4 years ago. I have met with mrs. Collura several times during school year for parents teacher conference. I was very impressed with her as a teacher and as a person. She was lighthearted with an easy smile and wonderful personality. But she was also a great teacher and my son thrived in her class. We will always remember her with eternal gratitude. Only recently I saw her in school in passing at another parent teacher conference and she seemed so well at the time. She smiled and waved hi to us all we didn't stop by to talk as we rushed to make the conference. Little did I know that we saw her for the last time. Please accept most sincere condolences on behalf of my entire family We are very saddened by the loss of such a wonderful special person and will miss her. With love Leonid Shkolnik
